Hey there Woody... hey man I'm in Philly, PA, hillbilly in the hood, bro! :thumb: Everybody is packing so no BS happening unless alky-hol, late night and shitty weed (which is EVERYWHERE). I get home before dark! hahahaha

So we have the same amount of moisture and rain as Oregon... almost exactly the same but the summer months are 100% humidity and hot as hell 90-100F.

I don't run AC anymore so I have to deal with PM/bud rot/insects all of the shit you left coasters have to deal with.

I used to run genetics that I didn't have to worry about the PM, there's some genetics that are resistant to molds. Once I started with the OG stuff that all changed. Chemdawg and all the relatives ... wow.

So what I've been doing and it's been working, we have PM here EVERYWHERE... at the end of the outdoor growing season all the leaves are covered with PM outdoors, then first frost leaves die and fall off... PM still here. So my problems are more in late fall since the spores are everywhere. It will carry over into winter indoors but I think the higher temps hold it back some and some plants have a resistance to it.

So there's the genetics card... I try and not grow Chemdawg in flower in the fall/early winter, I will get bud rot, have always got it until I tried the Horsetail Fern tea.

You can purchase it or better, go find it.. it grows in wet areas around ponds and streams and it's ready for picking at the same time as first cut of stinging nettles (mid spring). I've purchased it on Amazon...

Search for "Horsetail Raw Herb" - 4 oz from Moon Magick

It's a got a lot of natural uses one of which is a mildicide... and it's VERY high in silica same as Pro-tekt which I use in my foilers. The silica helps plants immune system fight off the molds.

Aywho.. wow sorry for the long wind.

Take a few 3-4 tbs of the Horsetail fern and steep in warm water like a quart mason jar, just like a tea... let it cool overnight. Put in the fridge and dilute say 1/4 cup into a 1/2 gal water and spray the plants. Best to spray them early in VEG. Can keep spraying while the plants in VEG.

This kills the spores before they get a hold and start growing. You can also use in flower, it has no smell and no taste but I stop using it about 1/2 way into flower. This works ... for sure.. I just trimmed a Chemdawg ... where I usually always see PM since the buds are real tight and sticky the big top usually has a little in there that I have to cut out and toss. This time nada.. I could see where the PM normally takes hold and all clear.

Think of Horsetail Fern tea like a prevention and not a cure... spray the VEG early flower plants before all the flowers are tight and packed.

I treated that Future plant.. man those buds are PACKED .... I'll be harvesting and we will see. If I was going to get PM its on buds like that and usually when I see foxtails that's a sign I have some PM but I looked real close and just trimmed the other 2 Future plants I had growing and all was well .... some of the ... make that THE frostiest nugs I ever trimmed. I really didn't have much to trim. Scrape off the dried leaf tips and shape em into nuggets and into curing container. I don't wear gloves to trim.. I literally couldn't focus my eyesight for about 6 hours after I was done trimming.

With Chemdawg and all her relatives.. I always have had PM in the past. Usually the top cola that looks the best ... burp... bummer.

Yea so the source for Horsetail Fern tea starts with Rudolf Steiner and the hillbilly organic nazis from the 30s. It's one of the 8 must have deals for growing plants.... they do some weird shit... they are still at it. Many of the high end specialty organic wine makers in Cali use this as well for Boytris and PM.

Wanna read some funky growing techniques, google "rudolf steiner #508 horsetail fern tea". Gonna be circa 1920's stuff. They had PM back then too and they grew cannabis and hemp big time....

Me thinks this is some oral tradition like old time country music... pass it down word of mouth ... next generation we get to make it all our own, and pass it on again.
