I can do it when I'm in thinking mode, which I'm not right now or I could ask DH to explain but I'd rather ask you since it's your recipe.
If 20:1 is normally prescribed for new patients and you're advising me to go with a 10:1 ratio since I have anxiety, can you explain why? I get why the lower numbered ratio 5:1 and lower is better for just getting high but I'm not sure how you came up the 10:1 ratio for anxiety.
And, does it matter whether the CCO is a sativa, an indica or a hybrid? What about CBDs and THC ratios?
Sorry for all the questions but I'm still pretty new at this. It used to be that I just smoked to get high; there was no forethought.
I'd been thinking about the ratio. You're an experienced consumer, so I assumed that you'd already be beyond the 20:1 mix. But you make a good point in that you should start at the lower dose and see if it is effective. If so I'd only make a small batch using 0.2 ml of oil. That way there's not a lot of capsules left when or if you move to a stronger dose.
The oil you chose to use is dependant on the intended outcome. For anxiety, my daughter's had great success with the balanced 1:1, so I'd try for that, since it's usable for any time of the day or night. For anxiety it's also suggested that you purposely avoid high THC sativas. It's the sativa influence as much as the high THC that causes anxiety instead of relieving it for some patients. My daughter, for example, is sensitive to both THC and sativas. Hence the balance CBD strain. My suggestion to you for anxiety would be an indica or hybrid with a balanced ratio of CBD:THC.
I hear you. When I hit this site I was strictly a recreational user. My only intent in being here was to let them help me grow something decent for my husband as he neared death. All the medicinal stuff took me by surprise. Now here I am spending all my time studying medicinal cannabis and posting what I learn so others can benefit from it. Life is strange. I didn't know I was SweetSue when I got here.
