I have a lot of pot and its derivatives in my house right now and honestly was okay with not going for my legal MMJ licence right now but DH convinced me to go for it now so that I could order MMJ and not just hope for the best from other vendors so I placed my first order with Tweed on the 13th and should get it by Monday. I ordered:
- 5 grams of Boaty McBoatface - Daytime Sativa - high in CBDs
- 5 grams of Tweed Lot #3 - Daytime Hybrid - less than 1% THC
- 5 grams of Birds Eye - Daytime Sativa - high in CBDs
- 5 grams of Tweed Lot #4 - Nighttime Indica - high in THC
5 grams is their minimum order but it seems like a lot to me since I know I'm vaping less than a gram per day now and some days recently, I haven't vaped at all (although I've been really achy the past few days so am kind of looking forward to some pain relief from my order).
Because we seem to have an excess of pot right now and because I had most of a pound of unsalted butter left over from last week's BBQ and since I've just ordered 20 more grams of pot, I decided to use the 3/4 ounce of pot that DH got from a guy at work plus the unsalted butter and try to make the slow cooker cannabutter recipe I found on Leafly:
Recipe: How To Make Basic Cannabis-Infused Butter - Leafly
I made it on Wednesday because I was home most of the day in order to stir it periodically. I preferred this method over the stove-top method because I don't like having to stir recipes often, which is way I don't do risotto, for example. I believe it was successful. I ended up with approximately 7 ounces of cannabutter but I haven't done anything with it yet because I didn't know what I wanted to cook with it yet and because I've been kind of busy and haven't really had time.
I've been thinking about muffins maybe. I need to find a recipe I like. [I don't typically use any fat in my muffin recipes because I've been trying to lose weight forever (since 1998 - approx. 70 pounds gone so far)].
I was also thinking about just using it for single-serving recipes but I haven't found any recipes yet.
I also was thinking that using cannabutter is kind of a pain and I doubt I'll go this route again. I think that using cannabis oil is probably more flexible but again, I'll have to do some research. I did have a quick look at 420 Motoco's "
How to Make Concentrated Cannabis Oil" thread but it looks way complicated what with having to do it outside and not windy and if windy to make sure the wind is going away from you, etc., I'm just not sure it's my thing. Remember - I don't even like stirring much.
I'm the type of person who tends to buy stuff like this already prepared rather than doing it myself. Heck, I buy bagged lettuce! Oh my!

And, speaking of CBDs and THC.... They confuse me, as do sativas and indicas. I always thought CBDs were good for relaxing and sleeping and THC was good for just getting high and having a good time and indicas were typically CBDs and sativas were typically THC but when I was looking through Tweed's catalogue, it often seemed like there was no rhyme or reason. Some high CBDs were good for alertness and were sativas and some THCs were good for sleeping and were CBDs, which conflicts with what I thought.

Okay, it's past my bedtime. I'm going to the Guns 'N Roses' show in Toronto tomorrow night and will be mixing up some melted hash (my fave) with oil, natural peanut butter and chocolate sauce to eat before the show. I hope the show is good. I'm a little worried because Billy Talent is opening for them and I HATE Billy Talent's singing. I like the music but the singing grates on my nerves.
