After over a decade of smoking and buying smoke, i decided i wanted to grow my own.
Few Reasons, in no particular order.
1. Expense...
2. Grow what i want...
3. Mini adventure.
So after lots of reading, and conferring with the ball an chain, i ordered my seeds.
Xcalibre- seriously citrus haze x5 seeds is what i settled on after speaking to a local grower.
What was initially going to be a domestic bulb in the cupboard kind of grow went out the window when luckily i found some 2nd hand grow equipment for sale.
2m x 1.3m x 1.3m Tent
Growmaster 400w power pack.
400w superveg bulb
250w bulb (confused as when to use this.
Lamp and reflector.
i then added to this with.
6"fan x3
6"ducting
5x10cm pots
5x25cm pots
small watering can
spray bottle.
Ok , first i germinated all 5 seeds using two plates and damp papertowel method.
planted in 10cm pots with "Hanging Basket compost"(chosen due to ability to hold water and help flowering plants .
chucked under a 60w halogen bulb for 2-3 days until they started to poke their heads through.
this is where i belive i made my first mistake... only just had the first two leaves developed when i whacked on the 400w superveg. Instantly one seedling browned and dried up.
oks with fans now blowing it seems to be a nice temperature and the remaining 4 seedlings look like they are doing well.
nice good growth 4 weeks in, just about 10 inches with huge fan leaves, apart from one straggler who is sat about 6 inches.
with height being a factor and using the "change to 12 / 12 and plants will stretch 2 or 3 times size. " rule. i decided to switch to FLower.
