We are delighted to welcome the Table Mountain Sativa Company to the family, as a new 420 Magazine sponsor. Without like-minded supporters such as them, we would not be the free resource for information, news, help and support that we proudly are.
If you are looking for top quality landrace and heirloom seeds, then the Table Mountain Sativa Company is the place for you. The story behind their products is truly unique.
They are not a large business. You’ll be buying from one expert, Matt. How he obtained and developed his seeds is a terrific family tale.
In fact, we need to thank Matt’s grandfather for being able to obtain these rare delights.
Matt’s grandfather collected the seeds while he was in the army. He was stationed all over Africa. He kept the lines going for decades, making sure the Malawi from one region was only bred with Malawi from the same region.
None of his family had any idea that he was engaged in this personal project. It was very much illegal then and also being quite senior in the army meant he had to keep it under wraps.
After he passed away he left Matt his sword and WW2 Army raincoat. One day as a teen Matt was hiding a box of cigarettes inside the raincoat jacket pocket, and found a fat envelope.
Inside the envelope were smaller packages of seeds, all labeled from the region where they were collected as well as labeled by year. Matt was already interested in growing so it was a no-brainer. He began to breed fresh seeds for each of the lines and then over the last 20 years or so, he has been selecting extra special specimens to feminize.
As a result of all this work, Matt can guarantee high quality cannabis strains that have been selected for various outstanding qualities. These outstanding strains have been collected between 1940 and 1960 and have been open pollinated over the course of 50 years to maintain their pure genetics. Later this year he will add another very special KZN heirloom, Malawi, Botswana and Tanzanian landraces to the basket.
So if you want to try something special, buy from a specialist. You’ll be sure to get original genetics from perhaps South Africa’s leading expert.
