This is not a traditional pipe, so you must get out of the mindset of burning your product. A dry product vape heats your product to just below the point of combustion and then uses a convection oven to hold and maintain the heat. This oven heats your material to the perfect temperature to release the resins and terpenes but just below the point where the product would actually burn. This eliminates the harshness and carcinogens associated with smoke and burning, because what you inhale from this device is not smoke, it is vapor. Your smokable product is loaded into little .3-gram metal baskets that fit down into the convection oven chamber which will give you 4-5 good hits each. Product is loaded, but not packed, into these baskets and can be preloaded for an extended smoking session with your friends. The chamber cover is magnetic and can be used to pick the basket up out of the device for reloading. Since the basket is metal, rotating the magnetic cover 1/4 turn before each hit will also rotate the basket in order to put a fresh spot in line with the heat intake coming from the oven.
Flame position is critical when learning to use this vape. There is no need to get the flame down into the hole as if you were trying to light your product deep down inside. Using a light drawing action with the flame a good inch away from the hole: the heat is drawn down into the stone to heat up the inner chamber. After 3-6 seconds, enough heat is able to be transferred into the stone so that the oven achieves the optimum temperature necessary to vaporize the resins and terpenes. Trust the stone! As soon as this heat begins to be felt on your tongue, you know that the magic is beginning to happen. Increase your flow, turn off the flame and stay steady on the draw, and you will suddenly get a huge hit of all the good stuff. Cleaning is easy and maintenance is minimal. Resin can build up in the mouthpiece, so it should be cleaned periodically using traditional pipe cleaners and alcohol. There should not be any reason to need to clean the oven part of the pipe. If something falls into the flame input hole, it should simply be blown out. No resins or ash will build up in this area of the vape.
