An educational session for medical marijuana license applicants and prospective applicants throughout Michigan will be held March 26 at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing, and live-streamed for those who don’t attend in person.
The program is designed to provide information on regulatory framework for the medical marijuana industry and will include these presentations:
• Keith Lambert, director of the Bureau of Construction Codes, will discuss designing and constructing medical marihuana facilities.
• Greg Kozak, on-site industrial hygiene consultant with Michigan Occupational Safety and Health, will present an overview of the MIOSHA standards and regulations potentially impacting the medical cannabis industry.

• Kevin Sehlmeyer, state fire marshal, and Brian William, plan review specialist, will provide an overview of National Fire Protection Association standards.
• Brandi Branson-Boone, Michigan Department of Treasury departmental analyst, will assist in navigation of the Treasury’s web services portal, Michigan Treasury Online.
The educational session, presented by the Department of Regulatory and Licensing Affairs along with the Bureau of Medical Marihuana Regulation, will run 8 a.m. – noon at the Kellogg Conference Center, 219 South Harrison Rd. in East Lansing. There’s no cost to attend, but advance registration is required due to space constraints. Deadline to register is 5 p.m. on March 9 to guarantee entrance. Do so at https://www.metrc.com/michigan.

No time will be set aside for public comment, but questions that license applicants would like answered during the session should be emailed to LARA-MedicalMarihuana@michigan.gov by 5:00 p.m. on March 9.
