The Central Illinois Cannabis Community is inviting the community to learn about the benefits of medical marijuana at its Walk for Awareness.

Founder Tyler Hargis says the stigma surrounding the use of medical marijuana makes users feel isolated and judged.

“When I’m on pharmaceutical medications I feel my body go from 100 percent to about 70 percent,” Hargis said. “If I use cannabis. I’m still myself. I’m not decreased in who I am. I’m not sored down by anything.”

Educational materials will be provided at the walk for awareness.

The event will be held at White Oak Park on April 22 at 10 a.m.
