The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Saturday at a marijuana cultivation facility in an unincorporated area near Carpinteria.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. when four males entered the facility, triggering an alarm.
A security guard who detected the intruders was detained at gunpoint, authorities said.
The robbers reportedly took property and fled. Sheriff’s officials said they believe the specific facility was targeted by the robbers and that there was no threat to other businesses or residences.
Authorities said no additional information would be made available due to the nature of the investigation.
