On Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 0800 hours, members of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Task Force, and Major Crime Unit assisted the Drug Enforcement Administration with the execution of a federal search warrant in the 15000 block of Lola’s Echo Rd., Nevada City.
Agents and Deputies located approximately 1,285 pounds of marijuana in black totes, and approximately 576 marijuana plants under cultivation. The marijuana under cultivation was being grown indoors underneath a granny unit on the property. DEA Agents seized the marijuana and a 2014 BMW 750LI as asset forfeiture. The value of the seized marijuana was estimated to be worth approximately one million dollars in US Currency.
Contacted during the service of the warrant was Jose Gregorio Luna, 34 years of age, from Nevada City. Jose Luna was arrested by the DEA and booked into the county jail on federal drug charges.
