Radio shack has just what Snub Knows speaks of for about $ 12.
I definitely will be getting me one, I don't know what my bf walked in with but it sucks royally...Can someone post a pic of theirs so I know I am getting the right one.
no real odor, just a smell of greenish (if that makes sense)
there are USB ones around 2.0MP and the say 400x, it is suffiecient for trichs, it runs abour 40$, cant post link because it is not a sponsor. I use one, and I think stevehman also has one. These pics were taken with one.
Here you go:
GoldenGoose - that Celestron is pretty slick.
obviously a set up like that requires you to remove a portion of the bud to view it. correct?
in a sativa advertised as an 11 week flower - how far along would you expect to be able to see the trics
Just get a good 10x Jewelers Loupe like a "Belomo Triplet 10x". Far more useful than those cheap pocket scopes and much easier to use.
A quality microscope worth using for trichome checking and cataloging will run you just under $200.00 with a USB imager.
Can't recommend the cheapo pocket scopes cause they are hard to use and not very good image quality.
I use a Celestron Lab Grade scope with a 2 megapixel USB digital imager in place of the optical eyepiece.
A quality Loupe will offer you far more information on your plant's state than a fuzzy off-color image from a $15.00 pocket scope. Or... You can save your money for awhile and buy something like I use! Pays for itself on the first perfectly timed harvest!
Yeah, I miss my loupe. Misplaced it months ago while medicated. It's around here somewhere, lol. But the cheapo pocket one works fine for me for now. Definitely upgrading in the near future, though. Love the pics, Goose, will definitely check out Celestron. Thanks!
Sorry to hear that you lost your Loupe! Look at it as an opportunity to buy a BeLOMO triplet 10 this time!
I can't give that little gem enough props, it is that good for this job!
Btw, I did try to look for one on Radio Shack site but couldn't find the one you guys mentioned.
