Hello everyone. 72 hours ago I took some clones and placed them into a tray and dome with rock wool starter plug. some of the clones don't look so hot right now . some of the stems seem to be to weak and have fallen over. Problably going to kill them unless someone can save em. These clones are form the seedling plants in my grow, they are a mix strain from a grow my buddy did that had a male in it. I don't believe them to be a great strain. I keep forgetting to write down the genetics from him.
My method
Using a clean blade I made cuts just above a node on the plant making sure the mother plant could still grow I placed them into a cup of water with 2 ML of Root 66 and sugar daddy until It was ready to move into the Rockwool. where I cut the stem down again so a node would be in the Rockwool soaked the end of the stem in the Rootech Cloning Gel for a few seconds. I checked the ph with my meter every time i made and used water.
My rockwool cubes were pre-soaked with 2.5ML of root 66 and 3ML Thrive alive red b1 in 1.5 liters of water for 30 minutes. I made 20 cubes.
the day after I made the 20 cuttings and planted them I ended up making more cubes beacuse of extra cuttings.
The clones have had 48 hours of light only when I would breath them. Last night I put them into my box and turned the light on.
I'm not sure what to do next to help these guys, the water that I sprayed onto the dome just fell on the black tray. I drained the extra water out of the bottom again today. My guess is over watering problems. You can feel the water in the air when you pull the dome off it, it's like a wave of humidity.
This is my second time doing clones, the first time I fallowed the same nuits, but I fed my mother plant water for 6 days before hand and had awesome success. Also, I placed them under a 200 watt MH lights right away. only one clone isn't growing, just kinda stuck.
The bin I'm using is for lighting cycles, when the plants root a little I will switch it right to a 12/12 cycle. the lights are 23W(Actual draw) 6400k I also have 2700k for the flowering cycle. I'm going to order some Mylar or poly next week and line the bin and cover the roots. I think black and white poly would be better for the roots over the Mylar? I was thinking about putting 2 air stone under the inline tray of my dome set up, using something to support the tray a little above the stone with maybe 15% of the cube being in the water. I want to flower these clones right to bud and get a little smoke off them, a gram each would be awesome. If I didn't need to sex these I would veg them for a while first and let them build up. Any suggestions would be of great help.
Pictures like always.
Clones:
Here you can see the two clones that cannot support them selfs, I fear it's from over watering or to hot. maybe both?
close up of bent stem
These 3 were tops of 3 of my plants. the top from my big mother plant came out great. do they look brown to you?
The guy on the far left who looks like an S fell over complete the first night and then started to grow back up
