Dont worry its very common, Its called cobweb mold. You see it alot on the casing layer when growing mushrooms...The easiest way to get rid of it is to use 3% h2o2 @ full strength (just a light misting though) about once a day for 3 days...Just enough to make the top inch of substrate MOIST..ONLY if you arent doing organics tho, because h2o2 kills organic matter...Make sure when watering, it doesnt take your substrate more than 3-4 days to become dry.

damn.. i had already switched this to a DWC because i was tripping out. didn't realise it was such an easy fix. oh well. lesson learned for future.
