Our plants are doing well so far after 9 days of veg time, and when they hit 2 weeks old, it'll be time to start the nutes every other watering.

It seems kinda obvious to me, but I thought I'd ask a question here about the amount of nutes to add to the water, so I don't destroy 22 plants.

I have Fox Farms soil and nutes, the Big Bloom and Grow Big. I'll go get some Tiger Bloom also when the flowering time comes.

For the first feeding, the Fox Farms schedule says to use 2 teaspoons of Grow Big and 2 tablespoons of Big Bloom in a gallon of water.

If the first feeding is to be done at 1/4 strength, that means I'll be putting in 1/2 of a teaspoon of Grow Big and 1/2 of a tablespoon of Big Bloom per gallon, right?

My measuring cup has marks for 1/4, 1/2, and 1 teaspoon, and 1 tablespoon. How many teaspoons are in a tablespoon? 2-3? I'll have to experiment with the graduated eyedropper and plain water to figure it out.

We have a hard time keeping the room temperature below 84-85 degrees in the mid afternoon, due to the sun heating the building and the growing room is on the top floor.

We have them on 20 hours of light / 4 hours of darkness.

K and Y want to change the dark cycle to mid afternoon, around 1 to 5 pm, instead of the 1 to 5 am it is now. We'd have to shift the dark cycle 12 hours.

I don't think it is a good idea, but if we did it, how can we do it without messing up the plants? Change them by 1-2 hours a day, 3-4 hours a day, all in one shot, etc?

I think that will burn the leaves from light reflecting through the water droplets. I think if we should spray at all, it should only be when the lights go out at night.

Any ideas on this?

Being the genius that i am however i put her back under 12/12 (been about a month now) and because i'm not home that much i didn't realize until two minutes ago when i was looking at my timer. I am now concerned that i might have turned the plant into a hermaphrodite.

i've switched the schedule to 18/6 now - how concerned should i be?
thanks in advance

Last night I transplanted my kids from 1/2 gallon starter pots to 5-gallon buckets they will finish in. Way bigger project than I would have guessed. Be sure you are ready before you begin. Plan on at least one gallon of PH'd water per 5-gallon bucket. Have a large tub to mix your soil in. Trying to mix pearlite and vermiculite into the the soil in the bucket is a huge pain. Mix in a big tub then fill your buckets. Be sure your buckets have drain holes. Each bag of Fox Farms soil will fill 2ea 5-gallon buckets. I bought way more soil than I ended up needing. I have enough for another complete grow. lol. PH your water ahead of time so it is ready to use. Have a dedicated "wet" area or use drip pans. Wet the new soil before transplanting the plant. Let the existing pots dry out. Trying to get a plant out of freshly watered soil is a huge pain and very messy. Use a knife or something similar that is long enough to reach the bottom of your current pots. Run the knife around the edge of the pot to loose the root ball from the pot. Slip the plant stem between your fingers and turn the pot upside down and give it a little shake. The plant and root ball should pop right out. Transfer it to the new bucket ensuring that all roots are covered in soil. Add some additional water around the plant.

My plants were started in 1/2 gallon pots and after 3 weeks they were very root bound. I should have transplanted last week.

I also made the mistake of not having enough water ready to go when I started. Huge pain to PH water as you are using it. Do it ahead of time. My time to transplant all 16 plants was about 4 hours. Take your time and handle the plants with care. Be sure your hands are clean before starting or wear latex gloves. Any oil residue or contaminates on your hands will be transfered directly on to the roots. Not good.

Hello everyone. I hope everyone has had a good week so far.

I keep second guessing myself with this situation I am in.. and I need help
with it. Any help sure would be appreciated and I'm sure that this issue will be really easy for someone to figure out.

My problem is... is I have been away from growing for a good solid year now and I have started germinating a few seeds. Well, once the seeds crack open and start showing their tap-root... I went ahead and planted them into the soil in their own individual pots. But, where I'm confused at.. is after I have planted the seeds that have cracked opened and show their tap-root, can I start the veg. cycle? Like.. can I go ahead and start them under a 24/0 or 16/8 light schedule for veg?

Or!!!! (hang on.. here's why im confusing myself.. i mean debating myself...)

Or once I have the seeds that have tap-roots visible planted in pots.. do I still need to keep them in darkness until the plant actually breaks the top of the soil before I start giving them light?

Please; (LOL) I really am stumped with this.. I have read and read and read.. and keep getting even more confused while reading for an answer... so please any one that can answer this for me sure would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :D

This will be my first attempt at scrog. I was wondering if anyone could give me a ballpark figure as how long it might take to veg 4 rooted Cindy 99s to cover a 4x4 area. With the stretching I guess that would be flipping to 12/12 when about half the screen is full? I will be vegging under a 1000w metal halides using clay pellet flood and drain system. I will be flowering under 1000w HPS. I would assume that would give me a little more leway in hight as long as everything is even? It is a legal medical grow so I am limited to that number of plants. I saw Munki cover almost three by three with just two plants that were in the same bucket, I thought a 4 by 4 wouldn't be that much more area to cover. I was hoping to do it in 6 weeks from rooted cutting is that realistic? Also if anyone has experince scrogging Cindy 99 any tips or hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any input.
