United Kingdom - A Cannabis factory was found inside a former chapel on a busy Shepshed road. Police burst their way into the former Shepshed Knight premises in Charnwood Road, on Thursday, October 24. Inside, they came across 300 plants, which is believed to be cannabis, in various stages of production as well as cultivation equipment.

It is not yet known what the street value of the cannabis would have been. Police are now appealing for anyone with information to contact them. The building, which was originally the Primitive Methodist Chapel in Shepshed, was most recently a skateboard and BMX shop. It was sold just before going to auction in April this year but has seemingly remained empty since.

"There was a terrific smell in Charnwood Road but the smell was all over. I think it was difficult to pinpoint which building it was coming from." A statement from Leicestershire Police said: "Officers from Loughborough local policing unit executed a warrant at a disused commercial premises in Charnwood Road, Shepshed on Thursday, October 24. "More than 300 plants believed to be cannabis and cultivation equipment were discovered in the premises.
