Paint will not adhere well to the plastic. That being said, there are rubber based, food grade, two stage paints that will work with moisture and are impervious to algae. Any quality hardware store should be able to help you.
You took care of your problem when you lowered the temps. The buds were loose because they were trying to keep themselves cool. 95 degree temps will give you loose buds every time. :)

Hi Droonk, you sound like you have the right attitude and your thumb is shaded green. It depends on who you talk to but it seems that 79 is the optimal day temp with night dropping down to mid 60's.

You will be fine. The dark cycle is the most important of the two.
I've been reading where a six hour on and eleven off will shorten the grow time. Interesting! Try finding a timer for that. :)
Not sure what a brita is but the chlorine in the tap water needs to evaporate out if the brita doesn't filter it out, usually letting it sit out over night will do it, and do you know what the PH reading is of your tap water?
It all depends on the soil mix you're using on when you'll need to add nutes. Just make sure you're using PH'd, chlorine free water. Watch the plants they will tell you when they want something to eat. :)
